about

((( headphones )))

Winter on the Korčula island is the perfect environment for meditative listening. The absence of people awakens a need for introspection and offers different textures of the space.

The Absence - started from listening to an old recording of the Wind Quintet by Serbian composer Ljubica Marić. After learning the composition well, I simply fell in love with the noise hidden in-between sounds produced by an old vinyl crackling and web compression. I made myself a little drone and soon realized the psycho-acoustic qualities of it.

The Moon Path - aims to trigger the movements of a subtle (energy) body, it is a gentle psycho-navigation for obtaining an astral projection. Since obtaining the projection consciously is a rather demanding thing, for practitioners this can add to the start of their journey. The rest of us lazy mortals, we might only get to feel slight reverberations and gentle movements under the skin surface.

PLEASE DO NOT LISTEN TO EITHER OF THESE TWO TRACKS WHILE STANDING UP.

Mandrač - filed recording of a small rock barrier at the St. Nikola's Monastery, which is situated at the edge of the town. The Monastery was built around 1505, with additional buildings added in the reconstruction effort in 1665. It is one of the oldest addresses of the Dominican Order and has one of the oldest libraries in Europe.

Still, the nucleus of narrative in these soundscape compositions is noise pollution, from both below and above the Adriatic sea. And with insisting on bringing both harsh and gentle mechanical oscillations to your attention, I want to change your perspective from an objective listener/observer to a subject of an experience - and make you be a fish for a day.
